Very quick response and arranged to come and do the fix the next day. Luke was fantastic and fixed our window on our second floor flat that others had refused to fix. Great quality repair and service thank you so much. I would highly recommend Window Fixers London!Posted on Google vittoria romeoTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Luke came to replace 2 hinges on my double glazed back door and fit and extra hinge on Saturday18th April, he arrived at 10.30 am and was finished by 11.45am. He was very quick clean and professional and very polite, and now it’s literally like having a brand new door which closes and locks properly and has no more gaps at the top where we used to be able to see daylight. Vittoria and I are super pleased with the service and results. Tim C.Posted on Google Francisco Fernandez LopezTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Very fast communication, transparent pricing and efficient installation.Posted on Google Jo StonesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Easy communication with the office via WhatsApp, upfront fixed price quote based on video I’d sent of the problem door being jammed shut and its misted up unit. The teams arrived in the expected time slots, opened the door, replaced the mechanism, changed the window unit, cleaned up abd took the waste away. There were options to pay as direct transfer or via a secure link. I would definitely use Window Fixers/Glazie againPosted on Google P STrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Window Fixers were easy to work with. From getting a quote to having 2 french door units and a side window unit (all blown and misted up) installed was a matter of days. Rehan who did the quote and Ravi who did the installation were pleasant and polite throughout. They were also very knowledgeable about all the aspects of replacing double glazing units. I will certainly be happy to have more work done by them when needed.Posted on Google DaniTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I found the number on Google search . The sealed unit is replaced as a complete piece both panes come as one bonded unit, so you don’t replace a single pane in isolation. The only exception is a decorative or leaded design that can’t be copied, where we may be able to preserve one side. Replacing the whole unit keeps the insulation and seal integrity intact, which is what stops future misting.
Glass can crack without impact for a few reasons: thermal stress (one part of the pane heating or cooling much faster than the rest, common with partial shade or nearby heat sources), movement or settlement in the frame putting pressure on the glass, tiny edge damage from the original manufacture, or rarely, in toughened glass spontaneous breakage from a nickel sulphide inclusion. We identify the likely cause and fit a correctly specified replacement so it’s less likely to recur.
Yes — we prioritise smashed and insecure units. We quote same-day from a photo, and because standard clear-glass units can often be turned around quickly, we aim to get you secure and sorted fast. Bespoke units (toughened, laminated, obscure, door glass) are made to measure and typically take a few working days, so where a property is left insecure we’ll advise on the quickest way to make the opening safe in the meantime.
Yes. We make each unit to measure and match the glass type, thickness, tint, and pattern to your existing windows and doors, including obscure/privacy patterns where available. The result is a consistent look across the property rather than one obviously “new” pane.
Standard annealed glass is ordinary float glass. Toughened (tempered) glass is heat-treated to be several times stronger and, if it does break, it shatters into small blunt granules rather than sharp shards. UK safety glazing rules require toughened or laminated safety glass in doors and low-level windows, which is why we fit it as standard in those positions.
Double glazing has two panes with an insulating gas filled gap; triple glazing has three. Triple glazing improves insulation and noise reduction further but costs more and is heavier, so it isn’t always the best fit for every frame. For most London homes, an A-rated Low E double glazed unit gives the best balance of performance and value.
Yes. In most cases, it is possible to replace the glass in your existing window frames. Damaged or worn frames may require replacing the entire window or door.
Prices are fixed and start from £220 per unit (supply and fit), with the final figure depending on the size of the pane and the glass type. There’s no call-out charge and no hidden extras. Priority or emergency attendance may affect scheduling, but the pricing stays transparent, and you save 20% when three or more units are replaced in one visit.
If you’re happy with the quotation you received by phone, email or WhatsApp and wish to proceed. We’ll then arrange home/site visit to measure up the glass at a mutually suitable time.
After the measure up we’ll send the glass for manufacturing which normally takes 3-5 days* special orders may take longer.
The time it takes to replace double glazed glass depends on the size and complexity of the window, but typically takes between one and three hours just to replace the glass.
We aim to replace all glass units within one week of order confirmation.
We match the original specification and, wherever UK safety-glazing rules apply (doors and low-level windows), fit toughened or laminated safety glass as standard. Both are far more impact-resistant than ordinary annealed glass: toughened glass breaks into small blunt granules rather than sharp shards, and laminated glass holds together even when cracked, which improves security.
Our 10-year guarantee covers manufacturing issues such as seal failure, condensation, and misting it doesn’t cover accidental damage breakage or break-ins, which no glazing guarantee would.
Keep children and pets well away from the broken glass and don’t try to pull out large shards by hand. If you can do so safely, cover or tape over the opening to hold loose pieces in place and keep the property secure. Then take a clear photo of the damage you’ll need it for a fast quote and for any insurance claim — and send it to us for a same day fixed price. We remove and dispose of the old broken unit for you when we fit the new one.
It’s best not to. A cracked pane has lost much of its strength, so it can give way suddenly and if it’s toughened glass, it may shatter completely into granules. A crack also compromises the seal, letting in draughts and moisture, and weakens security. Keep the area clear and arrange a replacement promptly rather than waiting for it to fail.
No — you don’t need to handle large or dangerous pieces yourself. For safety, keep children and pets away and, if you can do it safely, cover the area. Our glaziers remove the broken unit, clean up, and dispose of the old glass responsibly as part of the job.
