A uPVC window repair fixes the part that has failed, such as a hinge, lock, handle or sealed glass unit, instead of replacing the whole window. It puts right windows that have dropped, let in draughts, won’t open or close, won’t lock, or have misted or broken glass.

A dropped sash, worn hinges or a faulty lock stop the window shutting and locking properly.

Appointment arranged for my convenience. A bit expensive but “Mr Luke”, who attended, methodically worked through to accurately diagnose the fault and rectify a tilt and turn window so well worth sorting to ensure working properly and secure. .

Repair is usually the practical option when the frame is sound and the fault is a handle, hinge, lock, alignment or glass unit. Replacement may be better if the frame is severely warped, badly damaged or no longer structurally sound.
The window may have dropped, the hinges could be worn, the locking mechanism may be faulty or the sash may be out of alignment. Avoid forcing the handle, and send us a photo or video so we can identify the fault.
This usually means the internal locking mechanism has failed rather than the handle. Common causes are a failed gearbox, broken spindle or damaged locking strip, which we can replace without replacing the window.
Yes, usually. Worn hinges, poor alignment or faulty locking points can all let cold air in, so we find the real cause before recommending a repair. We don’t replace rubber seals or mastic.
The glass itself can’t normally be repaired once the seal has failed, but the sealed unit can be replaced while keeping your uPVC frame. Replacement units start from £220 and come with a 10-year anti-fog guarantee.
Most handle, hinge, lock and dropped-window repairs are completed in a single visit. Made-to-measure glass units need a survey first, then a second appointment once the glass is made, usually 3–5 days later.
Yes, if the main frame is still structurally sound. Handles, hinges, locks, mechanisms and double-glazed units are separate parts and can usually be replaced individually.
Yes. Hardware repairs have a 1-year guarantee on parts and workmanship, and new double-glazed units have a 10-year guarantee against internal condensation.
