We repair stiff or spinning handles, faulty multi-point locks, worn corner drives and hinges, and windows that are stuck in tilt, dropped or won’t open or close, without replacing the window.

Appointment arranged for my convenience. A bit expensive but “Mr Luke”, who attended, methodically worked through to accurately diagnose the fault and rectify a tilt and turn window so well worth sorting to ensure working properly and secure. .

Usually because the window has dropped or a part of the mechanism, such as the corner drive, top hinge or locking gear, has worn and no longer lines up. We find the worn part and repair or replace it.
A handle that turns without moving the lock usually means a worn gearbox or corner drive, so the handle no longer drives the locking mechanism. We repair the mechanism so the handle locks, turns and tilts again.
Common causes are a dropped sash or a worn multi-point lock. Over time regular use wears these parts, so the window no longer lines up with the frame and won’t lock.
Handle down locks the window, horizontal opens it inwards like a door, and up tilts the top inwards for ventilation.
