A uPVC door repair means finding out why a door won’t lock, close or open properly and fixing the part that has failed, such as the multipoint lock, gearbox, handle, cylinder or hinges, instead of replacing the whole door. Often the door has simply dropped and needs realigning.
At Window Fixers, lock cylinders start from £99, handles from £139, alignment from £216 and multipoint mechanisms from £280, including parts, labour and VAT. Adjustments and cylinders are often same day; ordered parts usually take 3–5 days.

Most faults come down to one worn or misaligned part. Send us a photo or short video and we’ll tell you the likely cause before you book.
The locking points no longer line up with the keeps, or the gearbox or multipoint mechanism has failed.
The door catches on the frame or needs a push, usually because it has moved out of alignment.
A floppy or stiff handle can be the handle itself, or resistance from the mechanism behind it.
A jammed door is often recoverable, with the failed locking components repaired or replaced.
A worn or damaged cylinder, or locking points under strain, can stop the key turning.
Weight, wear and repeated use make a door sag, so it drags, catches and lets in draughts.
Don’t keep forcing a stiff handle: it puts extra strain on the multipoint mechanism. We don’t repair timber doors, old aluminium sliding doors, timber windows, sash windows, Velux or skylight windows, single or secondary glazing, water leaks or mastic replacement.

Appointment arranged for my convenience. A bit expensive but “Mr Luke”, who attended, methodically worked through to accurately diagnose the fault and rectify a tilt and turn window so well worth sorting to ensure working properly and secure. .

Draughts usually come from a dropped door, poor alignment or locking points that no longer pull the door tight to the frame. We inspect the door, then realign it and reset the hinges and keeps.
